Background[edit | edit source]

Rah'mon Kamen was given to the priests of the Temple at an early age by his parents, who were destitute and could not afford to keep another child. Rah'mon took to the cloistered life of a priest well. His country was in religious and political turmoil at the time; new powers from outside its borders were threatening the country's sovereignty. Changes were occurring within the religions of the land as different sects merged and broke off, and influences from other lands impinged. Ra, Horus, and Atum were each thought to be the God of light and major god over all. In some areas, the gods had merged, becoming worshipped as Re-Horakhty, Atum-Ra, and others. In others, the old gods were cast aside and new gods from foreign lands were worshipped instead.

Rah'mon's specific order taught him that all gods, even those from religions outside of his lands, were all aspects of one truth. Each god of light was, therefore, simply one aspect and virtue of the one, true god of light. Each death god was an aspect of Death itself. Each nature god was a small purview of Nature itself. Rah'mon's sect taught the people to be accepting and respectful of all the gods of the foreigners and other areas within their lands as the gods do not like those who affront them or cast aspersions.

Rah'mon also enjoyed the physical nature of the Temple warriors. These warriors were chosen because of their strong connection to the gods and spirituality, but showed their faith through their martial prowess and stout defense of the priests. Rah'mon took to drilling with them, learning the lessons of the warrior caste and becoming physically strong as well as spiritually enlightened. The priests of his temple saw this devotion to both sides of the faith, and his strong connection to the god of light, Ra, and realized he must become a champion of their faith. The head priests of his temple came to him and asked him to become a spiritual warrior for his people. His mission was to spread the light of Ra, as well as the beliefs of his people, into the darkness. He must bring the light to as many as he can, and smite the darkness a telling blow.

Description: Rah'mon is a thin, wiry, and very fit male with darkly tanned skin and black hair (his head is shaved). Around his left eye is a stylized eye symbol, painted in white that does not seem to fade or flake.

He wears leather armor with lacquered bamboo strips, sandals, and a shield, plus his weapons. His shield has a stylized Sun symbol that also looks a bit like an Eye. His chest piece also has the same symbol and he wears a necklace that has a stylized Ankh with the same symbol on it (his Holy symbol). His helmet is in the stylized shape of a Hawk, including a beak that covers his face.
