Sanction as a teen/early 20s hero. An adult Sanction, as the Player envisions him down the line.
Note: The gold coloring is actually a reflection of his power use. If he gets too angry, the power glow of his eyes will change to Red, and the ribbing on the costume will mirror that. Those are the only two colors anyone has seen, so far.

Details[edit | edit source]

ID: John Doe

  • Height: 5'7" (but growing)
  • Weight: 140 lbs (but growing)
  • Age: 16
  • Parents: Living
    • Father: James Doe
      • Finance
      • Is actually a pretty fun/funny guy, even for being a "finance guy."
      • Although respected in his own business circles, come on, he's a finance guy.
    • Mother: Linda (Ferris) Doe
      • Biochemist
      • Has won some awards for her research and papers in the biochemistry field.
      • Is pretty well-respected in academic circles around Chicago. Can often be seen on minor talk shows, giving lectures, etc. around the town.
  • Siblings: None

General Family Notes:

  • John Doe's parents are upper-middle class, bordering on lower-upper class. They are comfortable.
  • John frequently gets teased by his close friends because his parents get along so well, treat him well, and are very close. Some refer to Doe's "Norman Rockwell" upbringing. Hey, his parents were raised to work things out, don't let things linger, and to communicate. It works. Sue 'em. ;-)

Personality:

  • Geeky; likes genre movies, TV, and comics.
  • Is young enough to think he can do anything, smart and powerful enough that, so far, he’s been right—which could be dangerous.
  • Generally a good person, but has a mean streak when angry. Sometimes reacts without thinking, especially when angry.
  • Tends to think of revenge first and justice/law second. But is basically good; will get to the law/right thing to do after he calms down.

Notes[edit | edit source]

Sanction is a young, new metahuman. His powers first appeared as Telekinesis and a mild touch of Telepathy. However, as he uses his powers, he is finding that they work best near to his body. As his power matures into "tactile telekinesis", he is becoming a very strong "physical" metahuman.

Initial Power Appearance:[edit | edit source]

Classic Telekinesis abilities. Could create "force" items, like walls and crude weapons with which to fight, could lift and throw things, and could "amp" himself or others up to boost their healing. His yes glow whenever he uses the power. The power is invisible except for the manifestations of its use (i.e., you don't see anything lifting a rock, you just see what appears to be a rock floating).

Power Evolution:[edit | edit source]

The classic Telekinesis was still being used, but Sanction noticed it was more powerful and easier to use when kept close to his body. It was like it was enhancing his physical properties (like strength) and then flowing outward to help him do things (like pick up things without damage). Instead of lifting himself externally with the TK, he started to evince a more traditional "flying" power.

Developed a crude Telepathy ability. Still used it mostly for boosting his own or others' healing abilities, but occasionally was able to sense others, communicate mind to mind with them, and even use their senses to his own advantage.

Eyes still glow when using the power. The power still manifests as invisible; however, when something contacts the power (like a bullet hitting the TK shield), there is a faint but noticeable shower of 'sparks' at the impact site the same color as his glowing eyes.

Current Evolution:[edit | edit source]

The Telekinesis has turned definitely into what is being called "tactile telekinesis" now. It presents as super-strength and an impervious shield for protection. It is definitely boosting his physical properties. He can still force the TK to work away from his body, but it takes effort now. "Flight" is smooth and tends to look like other flyers, not like he's lifting himself through TK use. He can use his TK as a "lance" that allows him a fairly strong distance attack (similar to "heat vision" but as a straight force attack).

The Telepathy is getting stronger. The healing boost he can do is getting stronger, and he is more often able to call upon the mind linking and senses of others.

It is noticed that his eyes' glow can change color with his emotional state. While the glow is usually a golden color, when he gets really mad the glow changes to orange and then red. It is also noted that the small 'sparks' when he hits something with his power or something hits him with the power are the same color as the current eye glow color.

OOC: Moving Forward; General Improvement Goals[edit | edit source]

  • Increase Telekinesis strength over time.
  • Improve Fortitude/HP/Stamina over time.
  • Improve Telepathy over time to include limited “comms” ability (link, read surface thoughts), limited “super senses”, and danger sense (see sub-bullet); working on “comms” now (not sure if this involves using Eps or not)
    • This ability replaces the “Superman” super-senses and is complicated, so that’s why it is manifesting last.
    • Instead of hearing or seeing really well, like Superman, Sanction subconsciously senses the thoughts (danger sense) or uses the senses of those around him at a minimally invasive level (they don’t know he’s using their senses to “enhance” his own, see/hear/sense omnidirectionally, etc.) to give himself better hearing and vision.
    • If the person has special senses, can tap into those.
    • This will be a step-by-step process, and over time. Comms/linking > “super senses” > danger sense (or last two at same time, as they use the same mechanic… we can work out when we start working on this)
  • Add more Feats/Boons/Banes to show the ability to use super-senses (via TP power), better combat ability, etc.
